Kalathas area is located 12 km from the Chania, 7 Km from Akrotiri nad Venizelos graves. Kalathas have  limited public transport. It is best to have your own car.
Kalathas is not a village but a fairly new, quiet settlement, mainly for people who wanted to move out of Hania.
Atmosphere Quiet place without much atmosphere.Accommodation Some hotels, studios and apartments.
Restaurants Only a couple of restaurants.Shopping is limited: Kalathas only has one  super-market.
